It's important that the days are balanced properly between your business and personal lives. As this new year gets under way, you may want to consider taking control of your calendar and ensuring it includes just not your work demands but also your personal tasks.

Time expert Jeff Doubek, on the Day-Timer blog, urges you to set three to five personal goals at the beginning of each month and track each day how you spend your time by recording personal activities in your calendar/planner. He advises you to increase your personal time by cutting back mindless TV and Internet browsing. "Having healthy work-life balance is a key to life. It puts you on the right path to living a rewarding personal life with family, friends and self-interests. Additionally, it makes you a more productive and stress-free employee," he concludes.
