The chief investment strategist of the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board is leaving to take a job at hedge fund manager Alignvest Management Corp.

Donald Raymond, who joined CPPIB in 2001, has resigned from his position effective March 31, the board said Wednesday.

He will become a managing partner and chief investment officer at Alignvest, effective April 1.

Raymond was responsible for overall investment strategy at CPPIB and headed the investment planning committee.
