The Canadian Real Estate Association says November sales of resale homes rose 6 per cent, while prices added 4.6 per cent year over year.

The national body says seasonally adjusted sales were also up 0.5 per cent from October.

It was the third straight month that national activity was up from the month before.

The national average price increased 4.6 per cent year over year to $360,396, the smallest jump since January.

The number of newly listed homes was down 3.4 per cent from October to November.

CREA says due to robust demand and waning supply, the national housing market is edging closer to a sellers' market.
