Alan Hill has retired as chief executive officer of Gabriel Resources Ltd. Gabriel, struggling to proceed with its Rosia Montana gold project in Transylvania, said yesterday that Mr. Hill has stepped aside effective immediately, but will remain a director and a consultant. Keith Hulley was named interim CEO until a successor to Mr. Hill is found. "Rosia Montana is a wonderful project, and it will become a model mine," Mr. Hill said. The development has been subjected to complaints about displacement of local people and destruction of archeological ruins. GBU (TSX) fell 14 cents to $2.75.
