TransCanada Corp. has reapplied for approval to cut interim oil pipeline shipment fees beginning in March.
The new proposed toll for long haul service is $1.89 per gigajoule.
In December, the National Energy Board rejected a TransCanada application to charge customers $1.23 per gigajoule instead of the current rate of $2.45, to transport gas on its Alberta-to-Ontario pipeline.
The board has said lower tolls were not in the public interest at this time.
In a statement, TransCanada said lower tolls "will allow for collection of revenues that will more closely reflect TransCanada's costs and forecast throughput in 2011 than the existing interim tolls."
The rejected agreement had the blessing of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers, which negotiates on behalf of its members.
