LexisNexis Canada is acquiring the Canadian legal publishing operations of the Netherlands-based Wolters Kluwer.

The purchase price and other details of the deal were not disclosed.

LexisNexis said the acquisition will expand its Quicklaw information service with a focus on corporate, securities, real estate, French-language content and other areas of practice.

Wolters Kluwer Ltd., formerly known in Canada as CCH Canadian Ltd., provides accounting, financial planning, legal and business software, information and services.

Its legal publishing operation has approximately 50 employees.

As part of Reed Elsevier, LexisNexis Legal and Professional provides business and legal information to lawyers, accountants, businesses, governments, academics and non-profit organizations.
