Norsemont Mining Inc. disclosed yesterday that its board has set up a special committee to deal with "recent unsolicited expressions of interest to acquire the company." Norsemont, whose main asset is the Constancia copper-molybdenum-gold-silver deposit in southern Peru, cautioned that "there is no assurance that any specific proposal will arise." NOM (TSX) rose 25 cents to $1.95.
