BMO Nesbitt Burns is adding a new research and fixed income expert to its team with the hire of Margaret Kerins. She joins the BMO team as a managing director and head of fixed income strategy.

In this new position Ms. Kerins will be responsible for the Strategic Analytics Group and will also help grow the bank's global fixed income platform. Part of this role will be focused on the Canadian securities side, but BMO's push into the U.S. will also require her attention.

With that in mind, Ms. Kerins won't be relocating from her home base in Chicago, where she worked previously as the managing director of U.S. agency strategy at the investment banking arm of Royal Bank of Scotland. She spent more than nine years in RBS Group's Global Banking and Markets unit.

Prior to that, Ms. Kerins held positions at Bank One, ABN AMRO and the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
