Macquarie Capital Markets Canada has hired Brent Larkan to head its retail syndication efforts.
Mr. Larkan was previously with HSBC Securities Canada in its equity capital markets group, but has moved on now that HSBC's Canadian retail brokerage is on the chopping block. At Macquarie, he will continue to work closely with retail brokers to get them good fills on new equity issuances.
Originally from South Africa, Mr. Larkan had been with HSBC for six years.
Also of interest, Paul Donnelly, who was previously the head of Macquarie in Canada until David Fleck took over, has landed safely in Australia. Mr. Donnelly has taken over as head of equity capital markets in Melbourne.
