Just in case any one who works on the trading floor of the New York Stock Exchange forgot, gambling is forbidden on the premises.

NYSE had to send this friendly reminder out yesterday, and publicly released the memo on its website. Not exactly the smartest policy considering that so many people associate trading with gambling already.

But to have some fun, the Wall Street Journal gave the NYSE a call to figure out why exactly this came out now. A spokesperson said similar reminders have gone out in years past, but it's important to refresh memories at this time of year because NFL playoff bets become rampant.

At least that means there are no dice games in the corner. We hope.
