Retail brokerage house Odlum Brown added bond market expertise Tuesday by hiring Hank Cunningham as its fixed income strategist.
At a time when shell-shocked investors are paying increasing attention to their bond holdings, Mr. Cunningham will be available as a resource to Odlum stockbrokers and clients. This is the Vancouver-based firm's latest move to deepen coverage of income-generating securities, as former top-ranked Blackmont Capital trust analyst Barbara Gray joined last year.
Mr. Cunningham has built and run three bond desks over the course of his 40-year career, at Dean Witter Canada, then at First Marathon Securities and most recently at Blackmont Capital. He is the author of the recently published book "In Your Best Interest, The Ultimate Guide to the Canadian Bond Marketm" and runs a website called inyourbestinterst.ca. He starts at 86-year-old, employee-owned Odlum Brown on March 30.
