The U.S. Commerce Department reports on the goods and services trade balance in October. Economists expect a deficit of $42.7-billion (U.S.).

The U.S. Commerce Department reports on retail sales in November. Economists expect a rise of 0.4 per cent.

The U.S. Federal Reserve Board reports on industrial production and capacity utilization in November. Economists expect production to rise 0.2 per cent, and capacity utilization at 78 per cent.
