48North announces test results from outdoor grow

48North Cannabis Corp. said Thursday it has received the results of testing on its inaugural outdoor grow at its Good:Farm facility in southern Ontario. Toronto-based 48North said this year’s harvest “positions the company to deliver on its supply agreements with provincial wholesalers in Alberta, Ontario and Quebec and extraction supply for humble + fume.” A&L Canada Laboratories Inc. reported the following results:

The THC content of the four cannabinoid rich strains that 48North successfully harvested at Good:Farm ranges from 11 per cent to 19 per cent with a weighted average of 14 per cent. 48North says these strains (NepalLights, Mountain Kush, Lemon Haze, and Green Crack) are expected to be used to fulfill its dried flower commitments to provincial wholesalers.

The THC content of the cannabinoid rich biomass produced at Good:Farm has more variation in the cannabis levels, and ranges from 2 per cent to 15 per cent with a weighted average of 12 per cent (with 69 per cent of the biomass showing THC levels of 14 per cent). This biomass will be used to supply humble+fume to develop future 2.0 products.ext.

Organigram receives additional licensing from Health Canada

Organigram Inc. said Friday it has received Health Canada’s approval for the licensing of 16 additional cultivation rooms under the Cannabis Regulations. The expanded licence was effective as of Dec. 12, 2019.The company says the new cultivation rooms represent approximately 13,000 kg/yr of increased target cultivation capacity. These are the remaining 16 rooms licensed within the company’s Phase 4B expansion and now brings the Company’s Moncton campus licensed capacity to a target of 89,000 kg/yr. Organigram says the Health Canada amendment also included an expanded site perimeter for Phase 4C as well as Phase 5 and approval for the operations area that houses the company’s line of chocolates. Additional drying and storage areas have also been added to the company’s license.

MediPharm Labs receives First GMP certification

MediPharm Labs Corp. announced Friday that the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) has notified the company that its Canadian manufacturing facility meets the requirements for Good Manufacturing Practice for Medicinal Products (GMP), a key business marker that increases MediPharm Labs’ global manufacturing capabilities. The TGA is the branch of the of the Australian Government’s Department of Health responsible for regulating therapeutic goods including prescription medicines, vaccines and medical devices, and is one of 52 regulatory authority members of the Pharmaceutical Inspection Co-operation Scheme (PIC/S), an international co-operative that harmonizes GMP standards and quality systems of inspectorates in the field of medicinal products.ext
