Canadian Augusta James shot a 3-under 69 on Sunday for her best finish so far in 2018, tying for third at the Symetra Tour’s Danielle Downey Credit Union Classic.

The 25-year-old from Bath, Ont., had a 10-under total to score her highest placing since finishing second at the Murphy USA El Dorado Shootout in 2016.

South Korea’s Eun Jeong Seong won the event, outlasting Stephanie Meadow in a playoff after they finished 12-under.

Seong won with a birdie on the fourth extra trip down the par-3 18th. She finished with a 5-under 67, bogeying the final two holes to drop into the tie with Meadow (71).

James entered the day 7-under and bogeyed the par-3 third hole before making a charge on the back nine. She ran off three straight birdies beginning on hole 11 and added her fourth of the round on 17.

James has one victory on the Symetra Tour. She won the Chico’s Patty Berg Memorial in 2015.

American Kristy McPherson shot a 4-under 68 in the final round to tie James.
