Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Melky Cabrera has been placed on revocable waivers, according to The Boston Globe.
Cabrera, currently on the 15-day disabled list after reportedly tearing the meniscus in his left knee, is eligible to be traded once he clears waivers.
However, because the waiver is revocable, Cabrera can still be retained by the Blue Jays even if he gets claimed.
Cabrera has struggled to live up to the two-year, $16-million (U.S.) deal he signed with Toronto before the 2013 season, batting .279 with a .322 on-base percentage, a year after posting figures of .346 and .390 while with the San Francisco Giants.
However, Cabrera ruled himself out of contention for last season's National League batting title after being suspended 50 games for violating MLB's Joint Drug Agreement.
