Less than 48 hours after begin demoted, Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Steve Delabar is being welcomed back into the fold.

The reliever, a Major League Baseball all-star a year ago, was the odd man out on Tuesday when the Blue Jays sent him to their Triple-A affiliate in Buffalo to make room for bench player Munenori Kawasaki.

But when the sore groin of pitcher Brett Cecil failed to pass the test in a poor outing Wednesday night during a 7-3 loss to the New York Yankees the decision has been taken to send Cecil to the 15-day disabled list.

The injury and resulting move to the DL for Cecil meant that the Blue Jays could recall Delebar, who is expected to be with the team in time for Thursday night's final game of the three-game set against the Yankees.
