Colby Rasmus homered and drove in three runs as the Toronto Blue Jays swept the Philadelphia Phillies with a 6-2 interleague victory on Sunday afternoon.

Left-hander Brett Cecil made a winning return to Toronto by holding the Phillies to five hits, no walks and two runs while striking out five in five innings. Cecil (1-0) was making his first start of the season for the Jays after being demoted to the minors at the end of spring training.

Jim Thome and John Mayberry scored on Cecil with solo home runs for Philadelphia (31-37).

The Blue Jays (34-32) scored six runs (five earned), two on Rasmus' homer, on eight hits against Phillies right-hander Kyle Kendrick (2-7) over 6 1/3 innings.

Toronto is 6-6 against the National League this season after their first sweep of an interleague series at home since 2007 against Colorado.

Attendance at Rogers Centre was a sell-out of 45,060 on Father's Day, with many of the Blue Jays' dads watching from the stands. Ricky Romero's father threw out the first pitch.

Cecil was at 87 pitches when he was replaced in the sixth by left-hander Luis Perez who allowed one hit over three innings. Jason Frasor worked the ninth and allowed two hits.

Toronto scored twice in the first when Brett Lawrie of Langley, B.C., and Rasmus started the inning with doubles for the first run.

Jose Bautista walked but was picked off first by catcher Carlos Ruiz. Kelly Johnson hit a two-out single to score Rasmus.

Thome led off the second with his fourth home run of the season, the 100th for the Phillies and the 608th for his career.

Mayberry led off the third with his fifth homer of the season to tie the game 2-2.

The Blue Jays regained the lead in the fourth. Yunel Escobar singled with two out, Yan Gomes was hit by a pitch and Rajai Davis bounced a single up the middle to make the score 3-2.

Rasmus hit his 10th home run of the season on the first pitch after Lawrie walked to open the fifth to stretch Toronto's lead to 5-2.

The Blue Jays tacked on an unearned run in the seventh when Jeff Mathis led off with a double. After Lawrie lined out to right, left-hander Jake Diekman replaced Kendrick.

Rasmus greeted him with a single to right. Mathis went to third, hesitated, then ran home when right-fielder Hunter Pence bobbled the ball for an error.
