The Toronto Blue Jays will welcome infielder Brett Lawrie back to the lineup as they prepare for a first place showdown with the Baltimore Orioles.

Lawrie has been on the disabled list since June 22nd with a fractured right index finger. He had four hits in 10 at-bats during a brief rehab stint at Class A Dunedin.

The 23-year-old was hitting .244 with 12 homers and 38 RBIs with the Blue Jays prior to the injury. He is known for his exceptional infield defence.

To make room on the roster, the Jays placed infielder Steve Tolleson on the paternity list.

Tolleson is batting .246 through 73 games this season with three home runs and 13 RBIs. He will be inactive for a minimum of one day and a maximum of three.

Toronto begins a series tonight against the Orioles, who sit four games up on the Blue Jays in the American League East.

Toronto had won six of nine until its last road swing through Houston over the weekend, where they lost three of four to the lowly Astros.

The division rivals have split 10 meetings this season, with Baltimore winning four of the last six.

Mark Buehrle gets the start for the Blue Jays against Bud Norris for the O's. Buehrle, who finally picked up his 11th win of the season in his last start, is 1-4 against the Orioles including a 4-2 loss earlier this year. Norris is 2-0 with an ERA of 1.83 in three starts against Toronto this year.
