Justine Colley scored 22 points as Canada's senior women's basketball team edged Brazil 56-53 to win the Super Four International Tournament on Sunday.

Colley, from East Preston, N.S., made four three-pointers and added three rebounds and three steals. Miranda Ayim of London, Ont., scored 13 points and tied Kalisha Keane of Ajax, Ont., for a team-high five rebounds.

Brazil led 22-17 at halftime but Canada rebounded with a 9-5 run to start the third quarter.

In the fourth, both teams scored 16 points in the final 10 minutes. Brazil scored a three-pointer in the final minute to pull within two points, but the host country couldn't finish the comeback in time.

"It was a great tough game, as it always is when playing Brazil," said Ayim. "We grinded out the match and got some key possessions towards the end. We worked together and really played as a team to get the win on their homecourt."

Canada also defeated Argentina and Puerto Rico at the four-team tournament ahead of the FIBA Americas Championship for Women that runs Sept. 21-28 in Xalapa, Mexico.

Canada opens the tournament against Jamaica on Sept. 22.
