Halifax — Kaleb Scott threw for 229 yards and a touchdown, and picked up 53 yards on the ground to maintain the Saint Mary’s Huskies’ perfect start to the season with a 26-16 win over the Acadia Axemen in U Sports football action on Friday.

Scott completed 17-of-26 passes, including a 15-yard TD strike to Rick LeMoignan in the third quarter, as the Huskies moved to 3-0.

Jericho Daher rushed for 19 yards on 10 attempts, finding the endzone on a two-yard run to wrap up a 75-yard drive in the second quarter to put the Huskies ahead of the Axemen (2-1), 10-3. They never trailed after that.

Acadia’s Hunter Guenard was 20 for 27 in the air with a touchdown and two interceptions, both to Mandella Loggale.

Dale Wright rushed for 85 yards on 15 attempts for the Axmen.

Bisons 37, Golden Bears 27

Edmonton — Des Catellier had 303 passing yards and four touchdowns, including a game-winning toss to Trysten Dyce, as Manitoba (2-2) extended Alberta’s losing streak to open the season to four games.

Huskies 33, Rams 20

Saskatoon — Kyle Siemens connected with Colton Klassen for two touchdowns, and threw a third to Jesse Kuntz as Saskatchewan (3-1) dumped Regina (2-2).
