Five pending free agents have chosen to bypass the open market and stay with their Canadian Football League teams.

The Calgary Stampeders announced Friday they had re-signed import offensive lineman Stanley Bryant while the Winnipeg Blue Bombers agreed to a new contract with all-star import defensive tackle Bryant Turner.

In Montreal, the Alouettes issued a release saying they had re-signed import cornerback Seth Williams, import defensive lineman Moton Hopkins and non-import fullback Dahrran Diedrick.

The 34-year-old Diedrick rushed for 55 yards on 12 carries last season while also making five special teams' tackles. Alouettes' general manager Jim Popp said the team welcomed, "Dahrran's leadership and all-around special-teams- and running-back play. Dahrran has been a real team player on and off the field."

Turner played in 14 games last season with the Blue Bombers' defence and had six sacks, 20 defensive tackles, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.

"Bryant is an integral part of our defence and organization as a whole," Winnipeg GM Joe Mack said in a statement. "His character both on and off the field are exactly what we look for as representatives of the Blue Bombers, and we are thrilled to get this deal completed and have Bryant anchor our defensive line once again."

With the Stampeders, Bryant was part of an offensive line that helped Calgary lead the CFL in rushing touchdowns and total touchdowns during the 2012 season while ranking second in points, rushing yards, first downs and pass-completion percentage and third in fewest sacks allowed.
