Hamilton quarterback Henry Burris was named Canadian Football League offensive player of the week Tuesday after leading the Tiger-Cats to a 37-29 win over the B.C. Lions last week.

Burris completed 25 of 35 passes for 375 yards and threw a season-high four touchdown passes. He added 12 rushing yards on three carries.

Blue Bombers defensive back Demond Washington was named defensive player of the week and teammate Will Ford took the special-teams nod for their efforts in Winnipeg's 25-13 victory over the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

Washington had a game-high seven tackles, two special teams tackles, a sack and a fumble recovery. Ford scored a touchdown on a 98-yard kickoff return and finished the day with 119 return yards.

Calgary running back Jon Cornish was named Canadian player of the week.

The New Westminster, B.C., native had 131 rushing yards, 46 receiving yards and scored a touchdown in the Stampeders' 22-12 win over the Edmonton Eskimos.
