The Edmonton Eskimos were winless in September and that's left offensive co-ordinator Marcus Crandell demoted in October.
The former CFL quarterback was told Sunday he will no longer be calling the plays. Instead, Crandell will coach the quarterbacks and head coach Kavis Reed will run the offence.
The Eskimos' decision to restructure their offensive coaching staff was made less than 48 hours after a 39-15 loss to the Stampeders in Calgary. The defeat was Edmonton's fifth in September, a franchise record for futility.
Under Crandell, the Eskimos had scored the second fewest points in the league, an average of 21.4 a game. He will continue to work with injured quarterbacks Steven Jyles and Kerry Joseph and the inexperienced Matt Nichols, who made his first start last Friday. Allan Maki
