Quarterback Anthony Calvillo suffered a bruised sternum when he was sacked in the second quarter of the Montreal Alouettes' 39-17 win over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Thursday.

A team spokesman said Friday that Calvillo remains in hospital but there is no word on how long he will be out of action.

Calvillo fell on the ball after he was taken down by Bombers linebacker Odell Willis just before halftime. The two-time defending CFL outstanding player was taken from the field on a stretcher and taken to hospital. With back-up Adrian McPherson also injured, Chris Leak took over at quarterback.
