Dave Stala is coming back early for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

The Ticats (1-3) are taking the veteran slotback off the nine-game injured list and adding him to the roster in time for their game Saturday against the unbeaten Saskatchewan Roughriders (4-0) in Guelph, Ont.

Stala, 33, opened the season on the injured list after undergoing knee surgery.

The six-foot-two, 205-pound Stala is entering his fifth season in Hamilton and 11th in the CFL.

With veteran slotback Andy Fantuz still nursing a hamstring injury, the return of Stala will be a boost to a young Hamilton receiving corps.

Kicker Luca Congi, who didn't dress for Sunday's 37-0 road loss to Saskatchewan, will play Saturday at Alumni Stadium.
