The Calgary Stamepders and Edmonton Eskimos will be honouring the four members of the Grande Prairie Composite High School football who were killed in a car crash last Saturday.
The two CFL teams will wear a helmet decal featuring the logo of the Grande Prairie Warriors. Matthew Deller, 16, Tanner Hildebrand, 15, Vincent Stover, 16, and Walter Borden-Wilkins, 15, died in the crash while Zachary Judd, 15, remains in critical but stable condition in an Edmonton hospital.
"This tragedy has affected so many people in the football community and beyond," said Stampeders' president Lyle Bauer, who made Thursday's announcement in partnership with Eskimos president Rick LeLacheur. "We're pleased to team up with the Eskimos and do our part to pay tribute to Matthew, Tanner, Vincent and Walter and their families. We also want to send our best wishes for a full recovery to Zachary."
The Stampeders play the Alouettes in Montreal on Sunday; the Eskimos travel to Vancouver to play the B.C. Lions on Friday.
