Winnipeg will play host to the 2015 Grey Cup, the Canadian Football League announced Wednesday.

The 103rd Grey Cup, which will be contested on Nov. 29, 2015, will take place at Investor's Group Field, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers' home stadium which opened last season.

"What better way to showcase our modern league than to bring our biggest game to stunning Investors Group Field, one of the new stadiums that are home to today's CFL?" Mark Cohon said in a statement.

The city last hosted the CFL's championship game in 2006 at its old building, Canad Inns Stadium.

The CFL says the economic impact of recent Grey Cups on their host cities and provinces have reached well over $100-million.

"This is going to be successful, it's going to be big, and it's going to make Manitobans proud," said Wade Miller, President and CEO of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. "Our fans will see to that. They've waited a long time for another Grey Cup and they're going to make it the best ever."

Details on tickets and festival events are forthcoming, but Blue Bombers season ticket holders will have priority access to Grey Cup game tickets.
