Former Ottawa Senators and Toronto Maple Leafs netminder Martin Gerber suffered a neck injury during a game in Russia's Continental Hockey League on the weekend that has him in hospital.
Russian publication Sovietsky Sport reported Gerber suffered a fractured vertebrae and early indications are he will miss several months while recovering.
