PGA Tour Canada will be making a stop in Ottawa for the next three years starting in 2014.

The Forces and Families Open, which will support the Military Familes Fund, will be held next August at Hylands Golf Club, a 36-hole facility which is owned by the Canadian Armed Forces.

"We were pleased to launch the Military Outreach Program to support the men and women of the armed forces earlier this year, and starting a tournament involved with Forces and Families is a natural extension of that relationship," said PGA Tour Canada president Jeff Monday. "We look forward to bringing some world class PGA TOUR prospects to Ottawa next season."

Net proceeds from the tournament will go towards supporting the Military Families Fund, which helps Military families in times of need, covering everything from counseling expenses to academic support.

The Military Outreach Program offers golf clinics from PGA Tour Canada players and free admission for retired and active members of the Canadian Armed Forces.

The tournament also marks the first PGA Tour Canada event in Ottawa since 2001 and is the second new tournament for 2014 announced since the Tour's inaugural season ended. The Thunder Bay Golf Classic was unveiled earlier this week for next July.
