Harvey Jr., Renolds secure Asian Tour status for 2012

Ron Harvey Jr., and Lindsay Renolds have qualified to play on the Asian Tour in 2012.

Harvey Jr., from Sussex, N.B., fashioned his best round of the week thanks to six birdies and a bogey for a 67, leaving him tied for 16th at 6-under par.

Renolds of Christina Lake, B.C., also came up with his best round of the week - a 3-under 69 - to finish right on the cut line in a tie for 37th.

They were the only two of the five Canadians remaining in the final qualifying stage to earn exempt status.

Winnipeg's Matt Johnston (72), Darren Griff (72) of Nanaimo, B.C. and Canadian Tour player Danny Sahl (70) of Sherwood Park, Alta., all finished tied for 45th, two shots outside the cut line.

A total of 42 players earned their Asian Tour cards for 2012.
