Inbee Park to play Manulife Financial LPGA event

World number one Inbee Park headlines the final list of players confirmed for the upcoming Manulife Financial LPGA Classic.

Park is among nine of the top 10 ranked players in the world who will be in Waterloo, Ont., next week for the second edition of the tournament at Grey Silo Golf Course. She is coming off a win last weekend at the U.S. Women's Open which marked her third consecutive major championship to start the season, becoming only the second LPGA player to accomplish that feat.

A six time winner on Tour already this season, Park will be looking to avenge last year's loss to Brittany Lang in a playoff.

Also confirming their appearance in the 144-player field is Natalie Gulbis, who will be making her debut in Waterloo this year. One of the LPGA's most recognizable players, Gulbis says she is back to full health after contracting malaria earlier this year during the Tour's Asian swing.

Defending champion Lang, 2012 Rolex Player of the Year Stacy Lewis, Suzann Pettersen, former world number one Yani Tseng and fan favorites Michelle Wie, Paula Creamer and Lexi Thompson are among those who previously committed to play in the event.

Nine Canadians will also be in the field led by Tour veterans Lorie Kane and Alena Sharp. They are joined by Tour rookie Sara-Maude Juneau, Maude-Aimee Leblanc, Sue Kim, Rebecca Lee-Bentham, Stephanie Sherlock,  recently turned pro Jennifer Kirby and Brooke Henderson, the top-ranked amateur player in Canada.

Two more players will be added following the Monday qualifier on July 8 at Whistle Bear Golf Club.

"Having this caliber of players on the field has helped raise the tournament's profile as one of the top events on Tour," said tournament director Richard Kuypers.
