Matt Hill and Mitch Evanecz joined three other Canadians in advancing to the PGA Tour's final qualifying school on Saturday.

For the third straight day, Hill carded a 2-under 70 at Southern Hills Plantation Club in Brooksville, Florida. That left him in ninth place at 11-under par which easily put him through to the final stage. Jon Mills of Belleville, Ont., saved his best for last, posting his lowest round of the week, a 3-under 69, to finish in a tie for 51st.

Robert Karlsson turned in four rounds in the 60s to shoot 18 under and take medalist honors. Arjun Atwal, Daniel Chopra and Derek Lamely were among the others qualifiers. Among those who missed the cut were two-time major winner Lee Janzen and Sam Saunders, who is Arnold Palmer's grandson.

Over in Murrieta, California, Mitch Evanecz of Red Deer, Alta., played his worst round of the week but it did not cost him. The former Alberta Amateur Champion carded a round of 73 at the Bear Creek Golf Club to finish in a tie for sixth, good enough to advance to the final stage.

Stuart Anderson of Sooke, B.C., put together a furious final round only to come up two strokes short. Anderson shot a round of 67 which included seven birdies over a nine hole stretch but it left him tied for 26th. Only the top 19 and ties advanced.

Nick Taylor of Abbotsford, B.C., started the day two strokes off the cut line but a final round of 77 dropped him into a tie for 46th.

Si Kim of South Korea was the medalist by one shot at 19 under. Dean Wilson, Tom Pernice, who split time between the Champions Tour and PGA TOUR in 2012, and Patrick Cantlay all advanced.

Over in Panama City, Florida, Eugene Wong of North Vancouver, B.C., posted his best round of the week, 2-under 69 at the Hombre Golf Club. That left him tied for 23rd, which was two strokes shy of advancing to the final stage.

Ted Brown of Peterborough, Ont., shot 72 and finished in a tie for 60th.

Matt Fast closed with a 67 to take low honours by three shots. Erik Compton, Len Mattiace, Glen Day and Gavin Coles were among the top 19 and ties who also advanced.

On Friday, Ryan Yip of Calgary, Roger Sloan of Merritt, B.C. and Richard Scott of Kingsville, Ont., all advanced to the final stage which will be played November 28th - December 3rd at PGA West. Adam Hadwin of Abbotsford, B.C., and Brad Fritsch of Ottawa will also be on hand at the final Q-school stage. Fritsch, who earned his PGA Tour card last month in the finale of the Web.com Tour Championship, will be looking to improve his priority standing heading into the 2013 season.
