The Vancouver Golf Club has been chosen to play host to the 2015 Canadian Pacific Women's Open.

It's the second time in three years that the private Coquitlam, B.C. club will stage the event and the fourth time in its history that the course has hosted an LPGA Tour event.

The $2.25-million (U.S.) tournament will be held August 17-23. It is considered one of the premier events on the LPGA Tour calendar.

Back in 2012, teenager Lydia Ko made history by becoming the youngest ever player to win a Tour event at the Vancouver Golf Club. Ko went on to successfully defend her title last year in Edmonton and will try for a three-peat when the CP Women's Open is played in London, Ont. this August. The only difference this time around is she'll be able to keep the prize money, having turned pro this past year after winning the previous two times as an amateur.

"Vancouver is a world class city with passionate and knowledgeable golf fans which made for a hugely successful event when the club played host to our National Women's Open Championship in 2012," Golf Canada Executive Director and CEO Scott Simmons said.
