Chicago Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville was fined US$10,000 for blasting the referees following Game 3 with the Phoenix Coyotes on Tuesday night.

Quenneville called the officiating a "disgrace" after watching Coyotes forward Raffi Torres hammer Marian Hossa with a high hit.

No penalty was called on the play and Hossa was taken from the ice on a stretcher.

A number of NHL coaches have been fined recently, including Tom Renney of the Edmonton Oilers, who was docked $10,000 on April 3 after criticizing referees.

The fine money goes to the NHL Foundation.
