The Vancouver Canucks have signed forwards Owen Nolan and Todd Fedoruk to professional tryout contracts, the NHL team said Thursday.

Nolan, 39, has played 1,200 career NHL games, recording 885 points from 422 goals and 463 assists, plus 1,793 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound right-winger has played for seven teams and spent the 2010-11 season with Zurich of the Swiss League, where he scored seven goals and added 19 assists in 24 games.

A native of Belfast, Ireland, Nolan was picked first overall by the Quebec Nordiques in the 1990 draft.

Fedoruk, 32, has 97 points (32-65) and 1,050 penalty minutes in 545 NHL games. The six-foot-two, 235-pound left-winger has played for seven NHL teams.

The Redwater, Alta., native was selected 164th by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 1997 draft.
