Broadcaster George Stroumboulopoulos will host the NHL Awards on June 24 at the Encore at Wynn Las Vegas.

It will be the first time that the recently named host of the NHL on Rogers will host the annual event. A full lineup of presenters and entertainment will be announced in the coming weeks, the league said Monday in a release.

The league will begin announcing award finalists Tuesday with the Lady Byng Trophy nominees. Other award finalists will be announced on weekdays through May 6.

The winners of the NHL's regular-season statistic-based awards will also be recognized in Las Vegas.

Pittsburgh Penguins centre Sidney Crosby captured his second career Art Ross Trophy as the league scoring champion. Washington Capitals right-winger Alex Ovechkin claimed his fourth career Maurice (Rocket) Richard Trophy as the goal-scoring leader.

Los Angeles Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick won his first career William M. Jennings Trophy as the goaltender who plays at least 25 games for the club allowing the fewest goals.

Stroumboulopoulos, 41, currently hosts the Gemini Award-winning chat show "George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight." It will be cancelled after the completion of its 10th season.
