Did real fans actually get tickets to a hockey game in Toronto?

The action may get more heated by game-time on Wednesday, but so far Toronto's first game featuring NHL players during what is supposed to be a hockey season is not looking to be a bonanza for ticket scalpers.

There are no more tickets available on Ticketmaster.ca for the RBC Play Hockey Charity Challenge, which will see 39 locked-out NHL stars led by Steven Stamkos and P.K. Subban play an exhibition at Ryerson University's Mattamy Athletic Centre, which was once known as Maple Leaf Gardens.

However, this is not a surprise since the new version of the Gardens has just 2,600 seats and standing room for a few hundred more fans.

But it appears not many of those tickets were acquired by scalpers, either professional or amateur, or those who hold them are more interested in watching what could be the only game in Toronto this winter with NHL players thanks to the lockout.

There are no tickets available on StubHub.com, the most popular ticket reselling website and relatively few up for grabs on Craiglist and Kijiji, the two biggest classified advertising websites

Craigslist has nine ads for tickets and Kijiji has seven, for around 30 tickets on each site, although it is not known if some ads are duplicates. The asking price ranges from the face value of $25 plus the $5 Ticketmaster fee to $125 per ticket, which does not compare to the hundreds of dollars scalpers can command at the Air Canada Centre for a hot Toronto Maple Leafs-Montreal Canadiens game.
