The Winnipeg Jets signed forward Rick Rypien and agreed to terms with defenceman Randy Jones on Saturday TSN is reporting.

Both players agreed to one-year contracts with Rypien's deal fetching $700,000 while Jones' will cost the Jets $1.15-million.

Jones scored one goal and 12 assists in 16 games with Tampa Bay last season but missed the final 16 games of the regular season and eight playoff games due to an ankle injury.

Rypien has spent six seasons with the Vancouver Canucks scoring nine goals and seven assists in 119 NHL games with 226 penalty minutes.
