The Toronto Maple Leafs final cuts are in.

Defencemen Keith Aulie and Matt Lashoff and forwards Darryl Boyce, Joey Crabb and Mike Zigomanis were all dropped from the Leafs roster on Monday as GM Brian Burke got his team down to the 23-man limit.

Lashoff, Boyce and Crabb are on waivers in order to go to the minors. Zigomanis had already cleared earlier in training camp.

The cuts mean that rookies Matt Frattin and Jake Gardiner have made the team.

All in all, there aren't a lot of surprises here. The biggest may be the fact the Leafs have kept Jay Rosehill over Boyce, who appeared to have a spot on the team as an extra forward – especially with all the injuries at centre in camp.

The fact Rosehill has a one-way contract, however, may be what kept him up.

With Clarke MacArthur suspended and Nazem Kadri headed for injured reserve, Toronto's opening roster appears it will be:

Frattin - Grabovski - Kulemin Lupul - Connolly - Kessel Brown - Bozak - Armstrong Lombardi - Dupuis - Orr

Extra: Rosehill, MacArthur (susp.), Kadri (IR)

Gunnarsson - Phaneuf Liles - Schenn Gardiner - Komisarek

Extra: Franson

Reimer Gustavsson

I don't expect any of those on waivers to get claimed, although there's a small chance Boyce or Lashoff finds a fit elsewhere. We'll know if they clear by noon on Tuesday.
