Toronto Maple Leafs forward Joffrey Lupul was knocked out of Thursday's game against the Philadelphia Flyers after taking a jarring hit in the first period.

Lupul was digging the puck out of the corner in the Leafs' end when Philadelphia's Jay Rosehill and Adam Hall sandwiched him with hits.

He immediately skated off the ice and went to the dressing room with just over seven minutes left in the period.

The team announced on Twitter that he had an upper-body injury and would not return.
