Team captains Nicklas Lidstrom and Eric Staal are making their picks in the inaugural NHL all-star player fantasy draft tonight in Raleigh, N.C.

Team Staal will face Team Lidstrom at the RBC Center on Sunday afternoon, but there may be more intrigue and tactics in the player draft, particularly as the spotlight shifts to the poor last pick. It could become a who's-better-who's-best verdict on the league's top players, or a test of loyalties and NHL politics, as teams build and as players lobby their captains. TSN has microphones on select players to capture the deliberations.

Will Lidstrom load up on Swedes? Will Staal take his brother Marc, a defenceman from the New York Rangers, with his first pick, or will he select his Carolina Hurricanes' teammate Cam Ward? What happens to the Sedins?

Globe and Mail Vancouver sports reporter Matthew Sekeres is chatting in the window below with the nation's hockey fans, taking your questions as the picks are made. Have your say on the proceedings and enter our discussion on tonight's historic hockey event.
