The NHL fined Minnesota Wild forward Devin Setoguchi $8,108.11 on Tuesday for a high-sticking incident in a game versus the Detroit Red Wings.

Setoguchi was fined for high-sticking Detroit defenceman Kyle Quincey in the second period of Minnesota's 3-2 victory Sunday. Quincey needed more than 20 stitches to close the cut on his chin.

Setoguchi received a double-minor penalty on the play.

As a first-time offender, the maximum Setoguchi could be fined was the lesser of $10,000 or one-half of his daily salary.

The fine money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
