Forwards Patrick Kane of the Chicago Blackhawks and Sidney Crosby of the Pittsburgh Penguins, along with Anaheim Ducks goalie Jonas Hiller were named the NHL's "Three Stars" for the month of December.

Kane was the first star for the second straight month. He registered a league-best 16 assists and 23 points in helping Chicago earn points in 11 of 14 games (8-3-3).

Crosby was the second star after finishing tied with Kane for the league lead in points, including nine goals. Crosby helped Pittsburgh register victories in 11 of 14 games.

Hiller claimed third-star honours after posting a 9-0-1 record. He also registered a 1.96 goals-against average and .929 save percentage to help Anaheim go 11-1-1 in December.
