Philadelphia Flyers defenceman Andrej Meszaros is expected to be out for about a month with a left shoulder injury, the Philadelphia Daily News reported Friday based on what general manager Paul Holmgren said.

Meszaros suffered the injury in the second period of Thursday's 2-1 win over the Rangers.

Meszaros, 27, has been playing about 20 minutes a game. He had no points in four games this season, but had seven goals and 18 assists in 62 games last season for the Flyers.

Holmgren said the Flyers will call up defenceman Andreas Lilja from AHL Adirondack to replace him.

The news on Meszaros comes just a day after Holmgren announced forward Scott Hartnell would miss 4-8 weeks with a broken foot.
