Once again, Buffalo Sabres minority owner Larry Quinn is denying reports a letter of intent was signed to sell his NHL team to Pennsylvania billionaire Terrence Pegula.

Quinn said Tuesday that contrary to a report in The Buffalo News, Pegula has not signed such a document to purchase the NHL team from majority owner Tom Golisano. He also refuted a television report that said Golisano would announce the sale when the world junior hockey championship wraps up here next week.

Golisano will be in California at that time, Quinn said.

However, there is little doubt Pegula has at least started the process of purchasing the Sabres. He signed a confidentiality agreement recently, and is examining the team's operations.
