Sept. 24: Chicago Blackhawks defenceman Nick Boyton suspended one game for making a throat-slashing gesture at an opposing player. He forfeited US$2,688.17 in salary.
Oct. 4: Montreal Canadiens forward Mike Cammalleri suspended one game for slashing Nino Niederreiter of the New York Islanders. He forfeited US$32,258.06 in salary.
Oct. 10: New Jersey Devils forward Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond receives automatic one-game suspension for instigating a fight in the last five minutes of play. He forfeited US$2,822.58 in salary.
Oct. 12: New York Islanders defenceman James Wisniewski suspended two games for making an obscene gesture to Sean Avery of the New York Rangers. He forfeited US$79,268.30 in salary.
Oct. 12: Chicago Blackhawks defenceman Niklas Hjalmarsson suspended two games for hitting Buffalo Sabres forward Jason Pominville from behind. He forfeited US$37,634.40 in salary.
Oct. 18: Phoenix Coyotes forward Shane Doan suspended three games for delivering a blindside hit to the head of Anaheim Ducks forward Dan Sexton. He forfeited US$73,387.11 in salary.
Oct. 20: Vancouver Canucks forward Rick Rypien suspended indefinitely, pending a hearing, for grabbing a fan during a game in Minnesota.
Fines
Oct. 10: New Jersey Devils coach John MacLean receives automatic US$10,000 fine after his player Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond took an instigator penalty in the final five minutes of a game.
Oct. 15: Ottawa Senators forward Nick Foligno fined US$2,500 for a blindside hit to the head of Carolina Hurricanes forward Patrick Dwyer.
Oct. 17: Buffalo Sabres forward Patrick Kaleta fined an undisclosed amount for attempting to head butt Travis Zajac of the New Jersey Devils.
Oct. 18: Edmonton Oilers defenceman Tom Gilbert fined US$2,500 for a blindside hit to the head of Calgary Flames forward Matt Stajan.
