Olympic champion Kevin Martin stayed undefeated after eight draws and booked a spot in the Canada Cup of Curling final with a 7-6 victory over Jeff Stoughton on Friday.
The victory boosted Martin's Edmonton rink to 5-0 with Winnipeg's Stoughton falling to second at 4-1.
In the other men's match in Draw 8, Brad Jacobs of Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., picked up his first win with a 11-4 rout of Saskatoon's Steve Laycock (1-4).
Jacobs is still last in the standings with a 1-5 record.
Glenn Howard's Coldwater, Ont., rink is third at 3-2, while Edmonton's Kevin Koe is fourth at 2-3.
On the women's side, Chelsea Carey (5-1) recovered from a morning upset loss to defeat Jennifer Jones 8-7.
The victory secures Carey's Morden, Man., rink a spot in Sunday's final.
Carey dropped an 8-7 decision to Edmonton skip Heather Nedohin earlier in the day but scored two in the 10th end against Jones' Winnipeg rink to finish her round robin with a win.
Nedohin (2-4) couldn't make it two straight and lost 8-7 to Amber Holland (2-3) of Kronau, Sask., in Draw 8.
Calgary's Shannon Kleibrink moved into second place and improved to 4-1 by doubling Stefanie Lawton's Saskatoon rink 8-4.
Jones, Holland and Ottawa's Rachel Homan are all tied for third at 2-3.
Draw 9 was scheduled for later Friday.
