Canadian athletes support Canada's Ryan Cochrane, the swimmerBRIAN SNYDER/Reuters

Ryan Cochrane is having a laugh being Ryan Cochrane, the other Ryan Cochrane, that is.

The Olympics has two Ryan Cochranes. Each is Canadian. One paddles a canoe; the other swims.

The first watery Cochrane, with his teammate Hugues Fourne, just made the finals in the 1000-metre double kayak race. The second watery Cochrane has already finished his finals, where he won silver in the 1500-metre freestyle.

So why is Ryan Cochrane, the kayak athlete, having a laugh? "I've been getting Tweets about my silver medal that I didn't win," he said Monday, adding that he hopes to meet Ryan Cochrane one day. Maybe they'll both have medals when they do. Here's hoping.
