Swimming
Canada's Penny Oleksiak won her second medal of the Rio Olympics: a silver medal in the women's 100-metre butterfly. Her teammate Brittany MacLean, meanwhile, came in fifth in the 400-metre freestyle.
Canada's men's 4x100 freestyle relay team placed seventh in the rankings after completing in 3:14.35. The race also featured
the comeback of legendary U.S. swimmer
Michael Phelps. With the help of Phelps,
the American team took gold, with the French and Australians claiming silver and bronze.

Diving
Jennifer Abel and Pamela Ware, the duo who are two of Canada's so-called "Fab Four," were projected to earn silver in the women's 3-meter synchro diving, but finished just shy of the podium in fourth place.
Rugby

The women sevens squad, which was unstoppable in their opening matches, downing Japan 45-0 before taking out Brazil 38-0, fell 22-0 to take their first loss in a match against Great Britain. They later beat France 15-5 in the quarterfinal to advance to Monday's semis against Australia.
Judo
Canada's Antoine Bouchard lost in the bronze medal match of the men's 66 kg judo competition.
He was defeated by Japan's Masashi Ebinuma.
Volleyball
The men's volleyball team, making its first Olympics appearance in 24 years, downed the United States in its first match.
