Crowd pleaser The Super Bowl always draws a diverse (and enormous) television audience, but many often tune in for the hype, commercials and halftime show. This year's classic match-up between Green Bay and Pittsburgh may actually hoist the on-field action into the spotlight.
Second-half showdown The Vancouver Canucks entered the all-star break tied with Philadelphia for the most points in the NHL, and they remain among the favourites to hoist the Stanley Cup. On Friday, they play host to defending champion Chicago, which finds itself in a tight Western Conference playoff race
Avoid at all costs It bills itself as the largest attended tournament in the world. It features a star-laden field, and the scenic TPC Scottdale's Champions Course is a scenic delight. However, it's hard to take an event called Waste Management Phoenix Open seriously, unfortunately.
